THIS WEEK’S VISIBILITY PLAN

The first Visibility Plan is here!

I’ll be posting these every Monday and the goal is to take the stress out of promoting your small business on social media. I focus mainly on Instagram but you can make tweaks and post to other platforms too.

This week, I’m giving you 2 carousels (or you can post them as photos on Facebook) that will help your audience get to know your business values, 2 stories that will boost your engagement and a trending reel that you’ll have loads of fun creating.

You can post them this week if you’re an on-the-fly kinda person, or if you’re a planner like me, you can spend this week getting the content and schedule everything for next week. One caveat to that though: if you’re posting something because it’s trending, get it posted ASAP. Trends change quickly.

Monday

Start your week strong with a set of images that show your audience what’s at the heart of your business.

The Hook: 3 Things I Wish My Customers Knew Before Buying From Me.

Product examples:

  • How long handmade products actually take

  • Why your ingredients matter

  • How to choose the right size

  • What makes your product different

  • Why your product is more expensive

Service examples:

  • How long projects take

  • What you need before working together

  • How much time and effort goes in behind the scenes

  • Biggest misconceptions

  • How they can get the best results/maintain the service you’ve provided

You know your business best - what would you love for your customers to know about all the hard work you put in?

TIP - DON’T OVERLOAD EVERY SLIDE WITH TEXT. ONE IDEA PER SLIDE, ONE IMAGE, PLENTY OF WHITE SPACE. KEEP THEM SWIPING THROUGH.

Tuesday

Pop up a story that will get plenty of responses. Every reply signals to the algorithm that your page is trustworthy.

Use the Question sticker and ask: “What’s something you always wanted to know about my business?”

Make sure you reply to as many questions as you can later in the day. Stories are one of the best ways to warm up existing followers because they feel more private.

Wednesday

As the owner of your business, it’s absolutely critical that your audience sees your face and gets to know you. That’s why I want you to give this reel a try.

Come with me while I…

Examples:

  • Come with me while I pack today’s orders

  • Come with me while I build a website for a cat-sitter

  • Come with me while I do 5 hair appointments in one day!

  • Come with me while I create a bouquet of flowers for a prom

  • Come with my while I film content for this amazing brand!

People are loving watching these reels right now, and it’s a ‘trend’ that isn’t going anywhere. Why? Because we’re all nosey! Reality shows are popular for a reason. So film a few behind the scenes clips showing what you do during the day - whether that’s making products, doing work for clients or attending meetings. What you’re doing isn’t the point. You’re becoming a familiar face and showing that you - not an AI robot - are the person they’ll get to work with when they become your customer.

If you’re new to reels, I know what you’re going to ask - do I have to talk?! In short, no. Doing the reel with text overlays and a trending audio is much better than not doing the reel. But if you’re feeling confident, go for it!

TIP - YOU DON’T NEED TO BE FUNNY OR DO ANYTHING TO GO VIRAL. YOU’RE MAKING YOUR AUDIENCE FEEL LIKE THEY’VE SPENT A FEW MINUTES WITH YOU. THE GOAL IS CONNECTION.

Thursday

Time to get some more photos and help your audience understand your brand a bit more.

The Hook: 3 Mistakes People Make When…

Examples:

  • Ordering cakes

  • Looking after their garden

  • Hiring a photographer

  • Choosing a mortgage adviser

  • Matching jewellery

  • Getting hair extensions

These posts are consistently saved and shared which is exactly what we want. Saves and shares are far more valuable than views and likes, because they tell the algorithm that your content is something people want to come back or start a conversation about.

Friday

There’s a marketing term called Social Listening, which is where you earwig on your audience’s online conversations about your business and you give them more of what they want and less of what they don’t. Today we’re doing this without the secrecy.

Find out what your audience want to see more of with a poll. Add a photo or short video to your stories. It could be your workspace, your morning coffee, a delivery, your new stock, your laptop, your notebook or anything remotely interesting linked to your business. Over the top, add this poll:

What do you want to see from me next?

  • Tips & advice on…

  • A day in the life

  • What my clients say about me!

You can tweak the poll answers to the kind of content you want to create, but here’s the important part. Pay attention to the results. Make a note of what your audience want and schedule it in for next week.

I hope you enjoy making some of these posts and be sure to send me an email with the results! hello@hannahkiddmarketing.co.uk
