visibility plan 17th aug

Welcome to your weekly content planning session.

Grab your planner and get these 5 posts scheduled in!

This week, I’ve got a static post or reel for each day of the week and a few stories ideas that you can scatter throughout your week, too. Remember, you can post these this week if you like, or you can capture the content you need this week and schedule the posts for next week.

Monday

Static post: This or That?

Show off your products or services with two images side by side, and simply ask your audience which one they’d choose. This or that?

The key is choosing the perfect pictures that show off the very best your business has to offer. Let me give you some examples of how different businesses could make this work.

Baker or cake shops - lemon drizzle or chocolate cake?

Interior designer - waterfall edge kitchen island or traditional kitchen island?

Hairdresser - ashy blonde or caramel tones?

Yoga instructor - energising morning flow or slow evening stretch?

TIP - YOU CAN NOW CREATE A POLL UNDER YOUR POST. USE THIS FEATURE TO MAKE IT EXTRA EASY FOR YOUR AUDIENCE TO HAVE THEIR SAY.

Tuesday

Carousel: When people say [obvious thing about your business] but that’s the least interesting thing about us

I’ve seen a lot of these carousels about dogs. “When people say Milo the pug stinks but that’s the least interesting thing about him”, followed by delicious pictures of Milo’s overhanging teeth, chonky butt and ripped-to-shreds teddy best friend. I haven’t seen too many people turn this format into a business post but you absolutely could! Here’s how I’d do it…

Coffee shop

Slide 1 - When people say our coffee is good, but that’s the least interesting thing about us

Slide 2 - Our Autumn menu has arrived

Slide 3 - Maple cinnamon latte

Slide 4 - Pumpkin spice cold foam

Slide 5 - Spiced apple chai

Slide 6 - And we’ve got a pastry pairing for every single one

Plumber

Slide 1 - When people say we’re good at fixing boilers, but that’s the least interesting thing about us.

Slide 2 - We turn up when we say we will

Slide 3 - We leave your home tidy

Slide 4 - We tell you exactly what the problem is and how we’ll fix it

TIP - DON’T MAKE YOUR CAROUSEL A BORING LIST, THINK ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS YOU DO DIFFERENTLY THAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LOVE.

Wednesday

Reel: When you’re crashing out but…

This reel is perfect for highlighting just how much your business means to your customers. You’re going to pretend to be one of your own customers for this one, and show that even in their most exhausted state, they still need to get their fix of your product or service.

Film yourself lay down on the floor or sofa, absolutely burnt out with no energy for anything. Well, almost anything. Pick up your phone and pretend to type for a few seconds then go back to being unconscious. When you edit the video, add in a screen record of you texting to book your service or order your product. Maybe you’re a hairdresser, so you caption your video, “When you’re crashing out but your extensions are due” and your screen record will be you sending a text to book that can’t-be-missed appointment. If you own a coffee shop, maybe you screen record a text coming through that says, “You want coffee from [your business]?” and you’ll type back your order, then go back to being crashed out.

There are lots of ways to do this so get creative and make sure you tag me in your reels on Instagram. @hannahkiddmarketing

TIP - IF YOU DON’T WANT TO MESS ABOUT WITH CONTACT NAMES IN YOUR PHONE SO YOUR TEXTS LOOK LEGIT, YOU COULD DO A VERSION WHERE THE ‘CUSTOMER’ ADDS ORDERING FROM YOU TO THEIR TO-DO LIST IN THEIR NOTES APP.

Thursday

Static post or reel: Kinda chic to…

If you haven’t already, now is the time to capitalise on the “Kinda chic” trend. It’s absolutely perfect for small businesses. Have a little think about how best to tailor it to your business. I’ll give you some ideas below.

  • Kinda chic to buy second hand furniture

  • Kinda chic to order the new autumn flavour before anyone else

  • Kinda chic to spend an hour reading in the corner [showcase your newest drink, outfit or Kindle stickers in the picture - whatever your business sells]

  • Kinda chic to have a hair appointment that feels like self-care

  • Kinda chic to wear your favourite jewellery every day

  • Kinda chic to have a website that works beautifully from your phone

TIP - THINK ABOUT THE FEELING YOUR CUSTOMER GETS. WHAT DO THEY GET TO EXPERIENCE THROUGH YOUR BUSINESS? A MOMENT TO THEMSELVES, OR A NEW-FOUND CONFIDENCE. THAT’S WHAT’S KINDA CHIC.

Friday

Static post: Introduce yourself… properly.

Take a really clear photo of yourself with plenty of space around you. You can take it in front of a light-coloured wall, or use the background remover feature on an app like Canva. Add some little labels all around your image, highlighting exactly who you are and what you’re passionate about. Use a good mix of business-related labels and personal ones, too. I’ve seen lots of these done with AI, but they’re nowhere near as effective. We’ve all started to zone out a bit when we see a post that’s clearly been made by ChatGPT or something similar, so take the time to add the text and arrows yourself.

stories

Give these stories a go this week!

  • Add a poll that matches your “This or That?” static post to your stories, and make sure you reply to your voters!

  • Create a collage with 3 horizontal images showing 3 things you did throughout the day today. Try to include a mix of business (packing products, providing a service for a client) and personal. Give each image a timestamp and hit share.

  • Show the face of a happy customer (with their permission of course!) People buy from people so show how you’ve made your customers feel. If your customers happen to be pets, even better!

I’d love to see what you share this week! Tag me on Instagram @hannahkiddmarketing or email me at hello@hannahkiddmarketing.co.uk
